Construction Project Manager
Part of Marcus Corporation, publicly traded on the NYSE under ticker symbol MCS, Marcus Hotels & Resorts owns and/or manages hotels, resorts and other ventures throughout the U.S. Our distinct portfolio includes city-center meeting hotels, upscale resorts, historic gems, and premium branded and independent first-class properties.
In this role you would oversee a range of time/project
management assignments associated with our owned and managed assets. You would
partner with corporate leadership, purchasing, vendors, hotel managers,
subcontractors and construction personnel.
Typical duties in this position include:
-Preparing field reports
-Assisting with document control
-Working directly with the site construction managers and subcontractors on the
timely completion of assignment
-Scheduling and ensuring scheduled dates are met
-Coordinating with hotel management and staff for project moves, changes and
construction
-Work with procurement, logistics, warehouse and design to ensure FF/E products
are expedited to meet dates required
-Coordinating construction with other activities such as liquidation and
installation of FF/E
-Receiving and expediting RFI¿s with the project team
-Monitoring and ensuring quality of construction
-Conducting walk-throughs and completing punch lists with contractors
-Participate in reviewing, approving and tracking of change orders
-Participating in tracking of costs as compared to budget
(This position will require the ability to travel to project sites within the US
on a frequent basis and for extended periods of time.)
We seek candidates with the following qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree in Construction, Engineering or related discipline
(preferred)
-Degree preference optional with strong hotel operations and/or capital project
leadership experience
-Articulate, with clear analytical approach to problem
solving
-Good decision making
-Proven organizational and time management skill set
-Team leadership experience and strength
-Strong written and verbal communicator
-Ability to navigate web-based construction management software
-Generally understand and utilize information technology in the performance of
work including
-Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
-Training in OSHA safety requirements and CMAA would be a plus
