You will contribute to Hilton Milwaukee City Center’s legacy by driving profitability through forecasting and motivating the Events team to deliver exceptional events every time.

Director of Events Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor and image of self and hotel.
  • Handle group events as deemed necessary (ie. VIP, challenging groups, corporate meetings, etc.).
  • Achieve goals set for the Events Department. 
  • Required to maintain high personal guest contact via telephone and in-person.  This is to include periodic visits to guests holding functions at the property.
  • Responsible for cost and profit goals as it relates to the event operation.  
  • Supervises Event staff to include training, development, counseling and disciplining.
  • Responsible with the Director of Banquets to establish high service standards. 
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all events files, both permanent and active including but not limited to the Delphi system.
  • Responsible for the entire department’s monetary goal.
  • Keep up to date of current market trends.
  • Attend community and business events including joining local/national organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Events, Catering and/or Convention Services (3-5 years)
  • Minimally an Associate Degree in related field – Four Year Degree preferred
  • Ability to analyze client needs and negotiate pricing
  • Budgeting administration and forecasting experience
  • High degree of organization and motivation
  • Strong project management skills
  • Previous Delphi experience preferred
