Dynamic leader with strong sales instincts sought to fill the role of Hotel General Manager at the Hyatt Regency Schaumburg. This tremendous asset is part of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, a name synonymous with upscale and award winning resorts, hotels and restaurants.

 

With 468 beautiful modernized guestrooms and 30,000 square feet of meeting and event space the Hyatt Regency Schaumburg is located 30 minutes from downtown and just 15 minutes from the O’Hare International Airport. Responsibilities:

Success in this role will be determined by consistently achieving budgeted results and a strong financial flow through while focusing on and caring for our most important asset, our associates. Additional measures of one’s success will include guest service scores/sentiment and associate opinion survey results. All metrics must coincide in a positive manner.

 

Additional Key Areas of Focus:

  • Embrace and ensure achievement of the property vision through well thought-out strategies and actions
  • Create and maintain customer-driven operation, empowering hotel staff to excel in providing superior guest service and satisfaction
  • Actively support the community to better serve our guests, our team members and the greater good
  • Consistently deliver accurate forecasting and timely adjustments as required in staffing and other cost centers to ensure profit integrity
  • Take initiative in creating new programs in response to market conditions and revenue generating opportunities (lead Commercial Team efforts)
  • Actively participate in sales presentations, property tours and customer meetings to ensure your team consistently exceeds client expectations
  • Closely monitor the recruitment, hiring, training, development and orientation of all associates
  • Oversee associate relations and provide leadership for all staff members
  • Overall financial oversight and support of the accounting function
  • Manage by “walking the hotel” inspecting guest rooms, public areas, back of house, kitchens, outlets and outside grounds for cleanliness and appearance

Required Skills, Experience & Knowledge:

  • Team-oriented and people-centric
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Quantifiable track record of past success
  • Strategic thinker as it relates to business leadership and revenue management
  • Ability to direct marketing and sales efforts to constantly position property as a compset leader
  • Capable of gathering/analyzing competitive market intelligence
  • Experience as a Hotel General Manager or other key leadership roles within a full-service branded or non-branded environment is required (Hyatt brand and systems experience would be helpful)
  • Ideal candidate will be located in and/or have experience leading hotel operations in greater Chicagoland market
  • A Bachelor's degree is not required but greatly preferred
