JOB TITLE: Housekeeping Lead
DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping
SUPERVISOR: Director of Housekeeping, Assistant Director of Housekeeping, Housekeeping Managers
POSITION PURPOSE: Support management by training and supervising the work activities of Room Attendants and Housepersons thus ensuring clean, orderly, safe, attractive and well-maintained guestrooms, public and back-of-house areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. SMILE!!!
2. Provide supervision of assigned Housekeeping associates to ensure job duties are completed.
3. Inspect and grade work performance of associates to ensure high standards of quality are being maintained.
4. Train associates regarding job duties and quality standards.
5. Ensure that all designated guestrooms receive service.
6. Inspect guest rooms, public and back-of-house areas as assigned and ensure compliance with standards.
7. Complete written reports.
8. Perform manual duties of other Housekeeping positions as necessary to cover temporary staff shortages.
9. Provide input regarding disciplinary issues and performance reviews.
10. Participate in the promotion of safety and security in assigned areas.
11. Help find creative solutions to trouble areas within the department and suggest new ideas and resolutions to Manager.
12. Ensure furniture, facilities, and equipment are maintained and in good repair and report any defects, when discovered, to the proper department.
13. Promote excellent guest/associate rapport by reacting promptly, efficiently and courteously to all guest and associate requests.
14. Alert Manager when supplies are below par level for reordering.
15. Ensure appropriate standards of conduct, hygiene, uniforms and appearance are maintained.
16. Represent the hotel with professionalism and decorum.
17. Make recommendations to his/her manager regarding improved methods and procedures to have a positive impact on guest/associate satisfaction.
18. Attend all required Housekeeping Department and other meetings.
19. Perform other duties as assigned per Manager.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1. High school diploma or GED preferred.
2. Previous housekeeping experience required.
3. Ability to prioritize and organize workload to ensure deadlines and standards are met.
4. Ability to exercise good judgment and positively affect the performance of others.
5. Ability to provide clear direction, instruction, and guidance to subordinates.
6. Ability to communicate effectively to associates. Bi-Lingual a plus.
7. Understand reports and related correspondence and accurately perform all essential job functions.
8. Basic computer skills preferred.
9. Must join H.E.R.E. Local 122 union.
