Marcus Hotels and Resorts is searching for a restaurant marketing whiz with a passion for all things UNDERCOVER.  You may be familiar with SafeHouse, a back-alley restaurant and one-of-a-kind spy experience every local has stepped foot into, but did you know – SafeHouse now has a Chicago location?  This exciting brand was originally created by mastermind Dave Baldwin who ran the original SafeHouse for 50 years.  When ‘Agent Oh-Oh-Seven’ retired, Marcus Hotels and Resorts was trusted to ensure the SafeHouse in Milwaukee would be available for generations to come.  Because of our love for all things SPY – we located the perfect inconspicuous spot for a second location just off the Magnificent Mile in the Windy City.

 

Marcus Hotels and Resorts is searching for a Director of Marketing who will oversee all things SafeHouse.  This person will work closely with Restaurant Operations to run all marketing efforts for this dynamic brand.  This position will be very active on both the Milwaukee and Chicago properties always on the lookout for fun ways to increase revenue through marketing efforts.  This position requires an interest in spy culture and an active imagination. The perfect spy will possess the ability to market to tourists, as this brand is especially popular with operatives who in town for a vacation, conference or just a quick business trip.  What happens at the SafeHouse stays at the SafeHouse.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans and programs, both short and long term to support Restaurant Operations and meet revenue objectives of organization.

  • Implement tactics outlined in yearly marketing plan.

  • Pitch event ideas, promotions and collaborations to Restaurant Operations that reflect the SafeHouse spy branding to increase engagement with fan base.

  • Vet incoming opportunities from multiple sources, develop recommendation.

  • Execute event promotion including posting to Eventbrite, Facebook and local listings.

  • Plan and carry out social media and email marketing campaigns, including acquisition strategy for each channel.

  • Implement website updates.

  • Lead reporting efforts on all media spend, marketing efforts and agency support to claim success or identify areas to improve.

  • Quickly identify when reporting reveals marketing efforts are not succeeding, identify what factors played into this outcome and pivot for better results in a timely fashion.

  • Research, analyze, and monitor various environmental factors to capitalize on market opportunities.

  • Liaison to PR agencies regarding promotional activities to produce earned media across channels.

  • Liaison to digital agencies regarding digital media spend to align SafeHouse revenue goals with advertising campaigns.

  • Oversee the development and production of promotional and collateral materials.

  • Maintain SafeHouse branding throughout all promotional materials, communications and events.

  • Control budget and work with accounting to process invoices.

  • Participate in meetings with Corporate Marketing, Restaurant Operations, Restaurant Staff and Agencies.

  • Other duties as assigned. 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree highly desired, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related.

  • 3-years experience in the marketing field required, experience in a restaurant or attraction based environment highly desired.

  • Understanding of digital media & reporting.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate various options and quickly make recommendations.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to meet multiple deadlines.

  • Must be able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • High level of comfort using computers and the internet is required.

  • Possess computer skills including, but not limited to Microsoft Suite, Power Point, and Outlook.

  • The availability to travel to Chicago weekly.

  • Highly organized.

  • Ability to think creatively and strategically.

  • Professional demeanor.

  • Budget management experience.
