Position Purpose: 

To serve beverages and/or food to the guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction.

Essential Functions:
- Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome. Use a clear and understandable speaking voice while addressing guests. Assist guests in Ski related areas in a quick and efficient manner. Be knowledgeable of hours of operation and facilities.
- Provide service promptly and efficiently using a positive and patient manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by cleaning, wiping, stocking and refilling.
- Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Grand Geneva from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
- Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with Grand Geneva's rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Associates who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
- In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.
- Collects and removes dirty dishware to dishwashing area or bus station, removes dirty plastic glassware and beer cans. Removes cafeteria items such as trays and dirty plastic glassware.
- Performs general cleaning tasks using standard resort cleaning products as assigned by your supervisor to adhere to health standards.
- Must adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to insure all laws are being followed.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Position Requirements:
- Requires high contact with all types of guests or clients.
- Will require standing for long periods of time.
- Cash handling experience preferred, but will train right applicant.
- Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages. Must know or be willing to learn proper food handling practices.
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
- Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, and scoop ice.
- Ability to listen effectively, to speak and write English clearly.
- Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
- Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check and order and close out a check.
Reporting Relationship This position reports to the Restaurant Manager.
